The Findhorn Foundation formed over 50 years ago and amongst other Ecovillage enterprises founded the Findhorn College. The Foundation was for many decades known as ‘The’ Findhorn Community. The Findhorn Foundation has four main sites: The Park, a residential ecological settlement and living learning centre nestled amidst dunes and forest, bay and beach; Cluny Hill a stately Victorian former hotel, five miles away from The Park in the town of Forres, which houses staff and welcomes guests on vocational workshops and events. A retreat house on the island of Iona, and a satellite community on the neighbouring isle of Erraid, run by Findhorn Foundaiton staff who welcome guest for life-changing experiences on the wild, wind-swept west coast of Scotland.
The Findhorn Foundation is an NGO associated with the United Nations Department of Public Information, holder of UN Habitat Best Practice designation and is co-founder of the Global Ecovillage Network and Holistic Centres Network.
