Practical Spirituality and Wellness
A new course that begins in the autumn is one close to our heart and mission – a Diploma course in Practical Spirituality and Wellness. William Bloom will be leading the course and training community members to lead it into the future. The modular format offers time to deepen between the structured seminars and practice within the group
The College is expanding its ability to host researchers in many fields – ethical business, community resilience, regenerative design, peace studies, role of arts in community building, holistic pedagogy are recent themes that have interested visiting researchers.
Each post graduate's research programme is carefully crafted to match their inquiry.
While the ORIGIN research project in optimising renewable energy has completed, other grants are being pursued to continue with similar aims, both at The Park and elsewhere. Using the research to better manage irrigation pumps in Tamil Nadu India is one surprising outcome! A feasibility study that extends the use of renewables at The Park has been undertaken; plans to implement are progressing.
Permaculture Design Course
Our Permaculture Design Course launches soon and we hope that the African participants seeking UK Short Term Study Visas will be able to attend.

Springtime is a busy time for visiting University groups to The Park, ecovillage and we enjoyed short and longer visits from students enrolled in Scottish Universities and as well as further afield in Europe, So Korea and USA. We welcomed students in the University of Aberdeen's teacher training and environmental management MSc, Robert Gordon University's Go Green Student Union group, a self organised group from Denmark, technical students from South Korea via Strathclyde University. Happily the May-mester organised by CELL (Center for Ecological Living and Learning in USA) were able to stay a whole two weeks; and we anticipate that next year it will be a 3 week visit for their 3 credit course.
